SPRING IS SPRINGING IN THE SOUTH

Last week I noticed the daffodils popped up and this week my Bradford Pear trees are in bloom.  I love Springtime in the South.

Beau enjoys the outdoors especially on warm days.

Embroidered Bib and Diaper Burp

A client ask me to come up with a design for a bib and diaper burp cloth that would be similar to a damask fleur-de-lis design.  The colors were to be Robin's Egg Blue and Black.  There were a few designs to pick from but none were really a match to a picture of the design being used for the nursery,  nor where I could use those colors.  In my searching through my stash of designs (of which I have thousands) I found this sweet little flower fleur-de-lis design, or at least that is what I called it.  Here is a picture of the final stitch outs.  It is not the traditional pink colors for a little girl, but I like the look.  I think it turned out nicely and with a little formal or sophistication flare.

Embroidered Totes

I rarely do any embroidery for myself  but I've been wanting to monogram on a duffel bag and small matching tote.  I thought now would be a good time since we are going on a short weekend trip to Disney.  The duffel bag is on wheels and just big enough for weekend clothes. The small tote will be good because it is roomy for camera and other necessary items and because it has an outside pocket for a water bottle.

I love the damask design.  The picture may be small and the design busy, but I love the momogramed color "Sugar Beet".

  I have found that it is easier to build around an embellishment,

 rather than pick out paper first.

The colors are more vibrant than the picture shows.

Bible Quiz

We are enjoying a visit with Carmen's family this week.  The weather is cold so we are finding ways to entertain the children (Carmen home schools, so they keep quite busy anyway).  But I have crafted cards with the children (sorry...no pics). They are all quite creative.

This morning Carmen was able to use the "Judge".  The Judge is a  buzz box used for Bible Quiz.  Many years ago I was coach for our church's Bible Quiz Team.  Years since, I loaned the quiz box out but it came back a little bit broken. Some of the wires were not connected and lights burned out or missing altogether. We had already ordered new lights and after my husband soldered the broken wires and lights were replaced....the Judge is again in working order.

The Judge is a great tool for learning God's Word.
