Happy Birthday Cards

I was asked to do some birthday cards so....here they are.....

They are a little larger than the ones I usually do.  They had to be large enough for numerouse ones to sign.

Easter Card

I have been doing a little machine embroidery for clients and a few Easter Cards for fun, so I thought....why not incorporate the two.  So.....here we go..... I stitched out the chick on my Brother PR600 machine and then trimmed around the design.  I pop dotted the chick on the card papers.  This is also my second attempt at a pedestal card.

The little Chick cracks me up!!

Retirement Card

A friend of mine is retiring and so....surprise, surprise....I made a card.  This is my first pedestal card.  What ya think?

The sentiment is :

Bed and Breakfast Get-A-Way

Dunham Farms 



Palmyra Barn
A 1930's farm barn now restored into a Bed and Breakfast and very charming 


Our daughter and son-in-law gave us a two night stay at a bed and breakfast for Christmas and we thought it would be a perfect time to use the gift during our anniversary week.  We had a lovely relaxing time and the hospitality was superb.  Dunham Farms is actually several old plantations which  has a total of 6,000 acres.  The land has been in the same family for eight generations beginning with land deeded from King George I. Some of the land follows the inlet waters along the Georgia coast.  We have really enjoyed the time together in this quiet peaceful setting.

Our room was very spacious and looked out to the inlet and majestic oaks.

The dining room was inviting.

  The lovely table settings and linens made you feel special but not too

 fussy to feel uncomfortable.

  Breakfast offered delicious gourmet food and was a wonderful and  relaxing

 dining experience to start the day

There were two groupings of sitting arrangements

This is the hallway that was formally  the walk way

 between the animals stalls when it was a barn.

Majestic Oaks grace the grounds.  These oaks must be over 300 years old.
The photo didn't capture the span of the branches.  They are just beautiful!. 



Our hostess said that there is a saying that
White Oaks -- Grow for 100 years, Live for 100 years,
 Die for 100 years



This is the original site of the plantation home.
(Restored to the original )
  It is now used during the summer by the owner.
She doesn't go very far  (just a few feet from her main home)
 but it is her get-a-way to devote to her writings.

We had a very nice time. Thanks to our wonderful daughter and son-in-law. 

Happy Anniversary

The year was 1972.  Beautiful Savannah was ablaze with blooming Azaleas
 and perfect weather graced the day
 I married my best friend.
